But we doubt it. Plautus, Rabelais, Molière, Schopenhauer and even Mr Seguin's goat all said that "man is a wolf to man", which is a mistaken anthropomorphism, since wolves have never shown any stupidity, fanaticism or greed that would lead them to commit atrocities.
