Indeed, our garments are made in Bangladesh from organic cotton grown mainly in India.
In fact, the cotton, organic or not, comes mainly from China, India and the United States.
It is thus important to underline that the brands that process/manufacture their cotton products in Europe, have imported the cotton at some point, either unspun or already in the form of fabric rolls.
In our case, the organic cotton is imported while the products are already finished. That is the only difference.
This difference, it is true, could be considerable, if our products were not manufactured in compliance with Fair Trade criteria.
This is of course the case at Quat'rues. Indeed, we could not conceive of our activity without participating in the improvement of working conditions - respectful of human beings and the environment - on site.
Others prefer to participate in the revival of the French/European textile industry. Both alternatives exist and each has its advantages and disadvantages.
That said, when we work with materials such as hemp and linen that grow locally, we obviously favour a short circuit which is more coherent.
In short, Quat'rues does its best to be part of an approach that puts people back at the heart of the economy and the environment by offering you to dress your difference at a fair and fair price.
